Roctest Geo-Lok Inclinometer Casing: Simplifying Geotechnical Drilling
Geotechnical engineers and drillers in Canada use Inclinometer Casing to achieve precise measurements of ground stability. However, the installation of this casing can be a challenging and tedious process, and incorrect installation can lead to costly rework.
To address these issues, Roctest has developed its GEO-LOK Inclinometer Casing. This innovative product utilizes a proprietary twist-lock connection that eliminates the need for glue, rivets, or shear wires. Instead, the two sections of the pipe are pushed together, and the pre-installed threaded locking collar is rotated to create a secure joint. This coupling ensures that the grooves of adjacent pipe sections align to form a continuous track for the inclinometer probe, while O-rings prevent the entry of water or grout.
The GEO-LOK casing features four orthogonal grooves along its inside surface, which are manufactured to have a spiral control of less than 1/3° per 3 meters of casing. When installed in a borehole, one set of grooves is aligned in the anticipated direction of movement. These grooves guide the inclinometer probe’s wheels, ensuring that the probe maintains its orientation as it traverses the casing.
